Verify first before making allegations: Wan Azizah

Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the President of the National Justice Party, has asked Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to get his facts straight first before making any allegations that a former Cabinet Minister had given US $10 million to radical Islamic organisations in the United States.

Wan Azizah said she is amazed at Abdullah’s statement that he cannot name the former Cabinet Minister yet as he must first verify it. Abdullah added that he needs to first talk to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and obtain more information before revealing the identity.

“The DPM certainly had no compunction then in making the allegation last week even though he had not verified the matter and, by his own admission now, needs to get further information from the Prime Minister,” said Wan Azizah.
